Police in Russia have added Oleg Navalny, the brother of jailed opposition leader Alexey Navalny, to a federal wanted list, the nation’s Interior Ministry reported on Tuesday. The announcement does not list the charges.
A day earlier, probation officers asked a Moscow judge to change Navalny’s current suspended sentence to an actual prison sentence. A court date is set for February 18.
In August 2021, Oleg Navalny was one of several opposition figures who was sentenced to one year’s probation for inciting protesters to violate Moscow’s pandemic restrictions on public assemblies when he promoted demonstrations in support of his imprisoned brother.
