The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, is suspected of having the coronavirus.

The news outlet “Baza” reported that Kadyrov was suspected of having contracted COVID-19 earlier today. According to Baza, he developed the symptoms of a respiratory infection several days ago, but was flown to Moscow for treatment after his condition began to deteriorate rapidly. Baza also said that “judging by medical data,” Kadyrov has already sustained lung damage.

The fact that Kadyrov may have the coronavirus was also reported by Interfax, citing sources among medical circles in Moscow. According to the publication’s source, the head of the Chechen Republic is currently under medical supervision.
