“We understand and are aware that it will be a difficult path in view of the degradation that the relations between the US and Russia have, unfortunately, undergone,” said Putin, speaking at a ceremony of foreign ambassadors.
Putin congratulated Donald Trump on his victory in the US presidential election. According to Putin, during the election campaign, Trump advocated for the restoration of US-Russian relations.
During the campaign, Donald Trump expressed a willingness to negotiate with Vladimir Putin and improve relations with Russia. He called Putin a tough and well-respected leader. Putin, in turn, said that Trump is a bright and talented man.
