Maria Zakharova, the official spokesperson for Russia’s Foreign Ministry, says the United States still clings to the vestiges of segregation. That was her response to U.S. State Department spokesperson Heather Nauert’s recent refusal on March 1 to answer a question from a Russian journalist. “You’re from Russian TV, too? Okay. Enough said. I’ll move on,” Nauert said, when asked by a reporter from Pervyi Kanal to comment on the missile videos Vladimir Putin showed in his state-of-the-nation speech earlier in the day. Zakharova threatened to force American journalists into “specially designated areas” at Foreign Ministry press events, if Washington mistreats another Russian reporter.
