Putin puts U.S.-based packaging company AptarGroup’s Russian factory under temporary management by Danone’s former Russian arm

Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree placing a 100% stake in Aptar Vladimir, a company owned by France’s Aptar Europe Holding, under temporary management. Aptar Vladimir owns a plant in Russia that makes plastic packaging.

The decree names H&N as temporary manager. H&N is the legal entity behind Logika Moloka — the current name of Danone’s Russian division, which was nationalized in 2023 under another Putin decree.

Aptar Europe Holding is owned by AptarGroup, a multinational company headquartered in the U.S.

On September 17, Putin signed a law placing the Russian assets of Auchan, Nestlé, Lemana PRO (formerly Leroy Merlin), and the French logistics operator FM Logistic under temporary management by L.E.V. Management. The Kremlin said the companies were placed under temporary management because they are from unfriendly countries “that are now actively involved in military action against our country.”

After the nationalization, Yakub Zakriev, Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov’s nephew and Chechnya’s agriculture minister, was named the new CEO of Danone’s Russian division. Two months later, Danone Russia was renamed H&N and began using the Health & Nutrition brand.
