Russian colleges will start training students to operate drones, state media reported on Thursday, citing remarks made by Education Minister Sergey Kravtsov at the Moscow Urban Forum.
According to Kravtsov, the Education Ministry recently approved a list of 5,110 jobs for which students will be able to receive training in trade schools. The list reportedly highlights more than 250 “in-demand jobs,” including operating drones with a maximum take-off weight of 30 kilograms (66 pounds).
Speaking at the same event, Deputy Industry and Trade Minister Vasily Osmakov said that the Russian authorities will need 1 million drone operators before 2030.
