Mikheil Saakashvili appears almost unrecognizable in court ‘He continues to lose weight and is on his way to death’

On July 3, Mikheil Saakashvili took part via video link in a court hearing on the 2007 rally dispersal case against him (when he was Georgia’s president). Saakashvili has been in custody in Georgia since October 2021. His brother David said: “There is a possibility that Mikheil was poisoned, history will probably prove it later. The situation is really not good, his weight is terrible, I’m not ready to say exactly how many kilos Mikheil weighs now, but the fact is that he continues to lose weight and is on his way to death.” In February 2023 it was reported that Saakashvili weighed 67 kilograms (148 lbs). Before his arrest, he weighed 116 kilograms (256 lbs) and was 195 centimeters (6’4 feet) tall.
