Putin attends Luzhkov's memorial service

On December 12, Moscow’s Cathedral of Christ the Savior held a memorial service for <a href="https://meduza.io/en/feature/2019/12/11/he-made-mistakes-and-worked-to-fix-them" target="_blank">former Mayor Yuri Luzhkov</a>, who managed the city for almost two decades, from 1992 until 2010. Vladimir Putin attended and personally expressed his condolences to Luzhkov’s family: his widow, billionaire Elena Baturina (center) and their daughters Elena (left) and Olga (right). Luzhkov will be buried in Moscow’s Novodevichy Cemetery.
