In Paris on December 9, the Russian, Ukrainian, French, and German heads of state met to discuss the eastern Ukrainian conflict. The “Normandy Format” meeting was also the first in-person conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The two leaders <a href="https://t.me/rian_ru/15645" target="_blank">shook hands</a> upon their first encounter. Following the four-way summit, they began a session of two-way negotiations.
