On July 24, St. Petersburg residents gathered outside the city’s Finlyandsky Railway Station to protest against violations in the city’s election procedures. St. Petersburg will hold gubernatorial and legislative elections this September, and more than 100 opposition candidates have not been permitted to register for those races. Meduza’s correspondent estimated that three or four thousand people attended the protest.
