Russian soccer’s all-time leading scorer Artem Dzyuba says he has retired
Russian soccer player Artem Dzyuba says his professional career is over.
“You could say I’ve retired. I might still play, but only for one of the influencer-run teams in the Russian Cup. Just for the stats. But I’m not sure,” he told TASS. He told RB Sport that his “career is over” but said he would not make an official announcement.
Dzyuba, 38, is a striker and the all-time leading scorer in Russian soccer and for Russia’s national team. During his career, he played for Spartak, Tom, Rostov, Arsenal Tula, Turkey’s Adana Demirspor, and Lokomotiv.
Dzyuba won four Russian league titles with Zenit. He also won the Russian Cup three times and the Russian Super Cup four times.
He made 56 appearances for Russia’s national team, playing in the 2016 and 2021 European Championships and the 2018 World Cup, which Russia hosted.
Dzyuba had played for Akron in Tolyatti since 2024 but was without a club after last season.
