Kremlin says enabling Starlink-equipped Ukrainian drones to strike deep inside Russia would be ‘reckless’
Providing Starlink data for strikes deep inside Russia would be “a very damaging, potentially dangerous, and reckless step,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Vesti correspondent Pavel Zarubin.
Peskov also said he expects Rassvet, Russia’s counterpart to Starlink, to become more effective soon.
A few days earlier, Finnish President Alexander Stubb urged Elon Musk to expand Starlink’s satellite internet coverage so Ukraine could strike missile launchers in Russia.
Ukraine has long sought permission to use Starlink-equipped drones beyond its borders to strike targets deep inside Russia. Former Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov made that request to Musk. The Financial Times reported that Musk agreed but said it was a political decision for the White House to make.
