Russian drones hit residential buildings in Kyiv, killing teenager. Hospital damaged in Zaporizhzhia.
Russia’s armed forces launched a massive overnight drone strike on September 25 against several regions of Ukraine, including Kyiv, the Kyiv region, Zaporizhzhia, and the Odesa region.
In Kyiv, Russian drones struck several districts, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported. In the Solomianskyi district, one of the drones hit a 25-story residential building at the fourth-floor level. In the Pecherskyi district, a drone struck a high-rise building between the seventh and 10th floors. Some of the drones hit nonresidential buildings.
Klitschko said three people were injured and taken to hospitals. The Kyiv military administration and police reported that a teenager, 14, was killed. Police said seven people were injured in the Pecherskyi district.
In the Kyiv region, Russian strikes hit three districts, Ukraine’s State Emergency Service reported. The attack set fire to a woodworking plant, a warehouse, private homes, and vehicles. Preliminary reports indicated no casualties.
In Zaporizhzhia, a Russian drone attack damaged a hospital building and sparked a fire in one of its wards. The strike also damaged high-rise buildings, garages, and vehicles, injuring two people.
In the Odesa region, a Russian attack killed a local resident and injured one other person. The attack also damaged a postal terminal building and warehouses. In Odesa, a private home caught fire.
Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed that Russian drones struck a site used to assemble and store Ukrainian drones in the Kyiv region, as well as military warehouses, a port, and a cargo ship in the Odesa region.
