Update. Four people, including a child, died in the overnight attack on Novorossiysk, Krasnodar Krai Governor Veniamin Kondratyev said. Twenty-nine people were injured, three of them seriously. Three private homes, five apartment buildings, a church, and a kindergarten were damaged, according to Kondratyev.
Ukraine struck Novorossiysk with drones in an attack that began on the evening of September 8 and continued through the night, Novorossiysk Mayor Andrei Kravchenko confirmed. Kravchenko reported “drone debris” falling on industrial facilities and near a residential building.
Ukrainian monitoring Telegram channels reported that the port of Novorossiysk was hit, including a fire at a fuel oil terminal. Journalists at the independent Telegram channel Astra confirmed this through their own analysis.
The outlet also reported that the attack sparked a fire in an apartment building.
The Defense Ministry reported that 596 Ukrainian drones were shot down overnight across various regions.
