Russian forces strike Ukraine’s Odesa, damaging apartment building and injuring eight people
Russian forces launched a missile and drone attack on Odesa and the Odesa region overnight on September 2. A 24-story residential building in Odesa was damaged, with apartments destroyed on several floors and windows blown out in nearby buildings.
Eight people, including a child, were injured, said Serhii Lysak, head of the city’s military administration. Two of them were hospitalized.
Cars, office buildings, and two educational institutions were also damaged, he said.
Suspilne reported that parts of Odesa were left without power, electric public transit was halted, and the Peresyp district experienced water outages.
Russia’s Defense Ministry announced that the strikes targeted a plant that produces unmanned boats, along with fuel tanks at the port of Odesa.
