Online marketplace Ozon offers sellers space in Kazakhstan warehouses after Ukrainian drone strikes hit its Russian logistics centers
The online marketplace Ozon has offered sellers the option to store goods in warehouses in Almaty and Astana, Kazakhstan.
“From there, we’ll have no trouble delivering orders to customers in Russia, and sales in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan will also grow thanks to fast delivery for local Ozon customers,” the company’s press service said in a statement.
Ozon said the other advantages of storing goods in Kazakhstan include delivery to Russia within a few days, no shipment restrictions, and free transport of goods to Almaty and Astana until September 30.
Since late August, Ukraine has been striking the warehouses of Ozon, Russia’s second-largest marketplace, after earlier attacks on Wildberries. Ukrainian drones first hit an Ozon logistics center in the Samara region, then warehouses in other regions. A few days later, Ozon said it would stock and sell goods directly from its pickup points. The company’s press service said more than 80,000 pickup points across the country “will be able to operate as small logistics centers.”
