Ukrainian drones strike Russia’s Lipetsk region, killing two. Wildberries warehouse hit again in Tambov region.
Ukrainian drones struck a private home in the Lipetsk district, sparking a fire that killed two people, Lipetsk Governor Igor Artamonov said.
The dead were a man and a 14-year-old teenager, he said. Two women were injured and hospitalized.
Ukrainian drones also struck a Wildberries warehouse in Kotovsk, in the Tambov region, overnight on August 26, sparking a fire that spread across more than 100,000 square meters (about 24.7 acres), according to Governor Yevgeny Pervyshov. Employees were evacuated, and one person was injured.
The press service of the company RWB confirmed the strike on the logistics facility and said the site had stopped receiving new shipments of goods. The company’s Kotovsk warehouse was among the first Wildberries facilities hit when Ukraine began targeting them in mid-July.
Kotovsk Mayor Alexei Plakhotnikov urged residents to limit “active movement around the city” for the next two days and to keep their windows closed because of heavy smoke and smog from the fire.
Ukrainian monitoring channels claim that the Lukoil-Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez oil refinery in Kstovo, in the Nizhny Novgorod region, also caught fire after the overnight attacks. Regional authorities have not yet confirmed the strike.
