Ukrainian drones strike southern Russia, killing two and sparking a fire at an oil refinery
Ukrainian drones attacked Krasnodar Krai overnight on August 25, according to the region’s governor, Veniamin Kondratyev, who said the strike hit Seversky district.
Kondratyev said “drone debris” fell on the Afipskaya railway station, killing two people and injuring two others. At least 10 private homes in the town of Afipsky were damaged, and a fire broke out in one of them.
The governor said a fire also broke out at the oil refinery. Ukrainian Telegram channels Supernova+ and Exilenova+ reported a blaze at the Afipsky oil refinery as well.
The Afipsky oil refinery has come under repeated attack from Ukrainian drones. The most recent strike occurred in mid-July 2026.
