Russian online marketplace Ozon announces support measures for sellers amid Ukrainian drone attacks
Ozon, a Russian online marketplace whose warehouses have come under Ukrainian drone attacks, has announced a series of measures to support sellers.
Sellers holding Ingosstrakh insurance policies that cover drone-attack damage will be able to claim payouts for destroyed goods, the company said. Once Ozon finishes inventory checks at the affected warehouses, it will send sellers payout instructions through their personal accounts on the platform.
Ozon also announced several other measures:
- Ozon will waive storage fees for goods held at warehouses damaged since the attacks began;
- Ozon will move goods from closed facilities to other warehouses at no cost, and will redirect, at its own expense, shipments that were already en route to damaged warehouses;
- Ozon has disabled the option to pay for orders upon delivery in 38 regions, a move meant to cut down on goods being returned to warehouses;
- Through September 22, Ozon will waive penalties for sellers operating under the FBS model over seller-caused order cancellations, other customer complaints, or late shipments;
- Starting August 30, Ozon will cut its warehouse storage commission by three percentage points.
Ukraine has been striking Ozon’s logistics centers in Russia since August 22, hitting warehouses in the Samara region, Orenburg, Dagestan, Adygea, and Stavropol Krai.
