Russian Finance Ministry proposes tax deferrals, audit freeze for Wildberries through year’s end

Russia’s Finance Ministry has submitted a package of support measures to the government for RWB Group — the merged company formed by Wildberries & Russ — as well as for sellers whose goods were destroyed in Ukrainian drone attacks.

The ministry proposed granting businesses deferrals on payment of several taxes:

  • For RWB, deadlines for paying VAT (excluding VAT on imports into Russia), profit tax, insurance contributions, and advance payments on these taxes would be extended until July 28, 2027
  • For entrepreneurs, deadlines for paying VAT (excluding VAT on imports into Russia), profit tax, tax under the USN and AUSN system, insurance contributions, and advance payments on these taxes would be extended by one year. They currently fall due between August 2026 and July 2027.

The Finance Ministry also proposed suspending tax audits and audits of insurance contribution calculations and payments through the end of the year.

The maximum deadlines for sending payment demands and issuing debt-collection decisions would also be extended by six months.

The support would apply to legal entities and individual entrepreneurs whose losses exceed 5% of their annual income, the ministry added.

Ukraine has been striking Wildberries’ largest warehouses across several regions of Russia since mid-June. Damage to the marketplace and its sellers is already estimated at hundreds of billions of rubles. Commenting on the Ukrainian strikes on August 19, Vladimir Putin said logistics and warehouse capacity need to be rebuilt, with government involvement, and ordered the government to adopt a recovery program, without mentioning Wildberries by name.
