Russia strikes village in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region, killing 10

Russian forces launched a missile strike on the village of Pechenihy in the Kharkiv region on the morning of August 18, Oleh Syniehubov, head of the regional administration, reported.

The latest figures show 10 people were killed and 17 injured. Ten private homes, a cafe, a post office, a store, and at least seven vehicles sustained damage.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also addressed the strike, declaring that Russia hit a busy intersection lined with a post office, stores, and residential buildings.

Zelensky said Ukraine “will definitely respond to this Russian strike.”
