Russia’s Central Election Commission has removed the Yabloko party from ballots for the election to the State Duma, the lower house of Russia’s parliament, the Russian news agency Interfax reported.

Yabloko had held ballot line No. 2, just after United Russia. With that line now removed, ballot line No. 1 is followed directly by line No. 3, listing LDPR.

“The line under No. 2 is excluded, the numbering of the other lines of the ballot text remains unchanged,” Commission Secretary Natalya Budarina said, as quoted by the Russian business news outlet RBC. She said the party numbers assigned by the drawing of lots remain fixed on the ballot.

Yabloko was the only party running in Russia’s State Duma election, the lower house of Russia’s parliament, on an antiwar platform. Russia’s Supreme Court removed the party from the race on August 10. The court’s decision stemmed from a lawsuit filed by the “Rodina” party, which accused Yabloko of violating copyright in its campaign materials and using “extremist” slogans. On August 17, the Supreme Court rejected Yabloko’s appeal and let the ruling stand. Police detained between 70 and 85 people in central Moscow the day the court heard the appeal.
