Moscow investigators raid the health clinic that promises to cure autism by ‘expelling parasites’
Investigators in Moscow searched PlanetaMed, Vasily Generalov’s clinic, as part of a criminal investigation into fraud and negligent infliction of grievous bodily harm.
Russia’s Investigative Committee in Moscow announced the searches but did not name the clinic, saying only that it was on Varshavskoye Shosse.
Child psychiatrist Stepan Krasnoshchekov, who has exposed Generalov’s “treatment” methods, says the clinic is PlanetaMed. The interior shown in the Investigative Committee’s video appears to be Generalov’s clinic.
Investigators also searched the homes of the clinic’s chief physician and staff members. PlanetaMed executives and administrators were taken to the Investigative Committee for “investigative procedures.”
Investigators said clinic staff systematically took money from the parents of underage patients, misleading them about the nature of their children’s illness and the effectiveness of the treatments the clinic offered. Care that could have improved the children’s condition was not provided, investigators said, and as a result the patients’ health was seriously harmed.
PlanetaMed is a Moscow clinic founded by neurologist Vasily Generalov.
