Kazakhstan deported Russian streamer Ksenia Guzaeva, known by the pseudonym Fasoollka, and barred her from entering the country for five years, the Kazakhstani news outlet Tengrinews reported, citing the Astana Police Department.
The Kazakhstani news outlet Orda reported that the stated reason for her deportation was “provocative statements” she made during her livestreams, including calling Kazakhstan “Finestan” and claiming that Pavlodar is a Russian city. The outlet also quoted her as saying, “In Kazakhstan, at what age does a girl become damaged goods? 13?”
Guzaeva, who has more than 360,000 followers on Twitch, arrived in Kazakhstan in early June. She confirmed on her Telegram channel that she had been deported, saying she had been to the police three times over the past week. The last time, she said, she spent half a day in a pretrial detention center.
She wrote:
“They tried me over a joke about ‘Finestan’ and ‘Campstan.’ The result: I was FINED 85,000 tenge [about $180]. When did I find out I’d been deported? At the airport, at the check-in counter. I was never tried on the deportation issue, and no ruling was issued. They just deported me after the fact.”
Guzaeva also said she had received insults and threats during that same period. She attached screenshots of the messages to her post and said her address had been posted online “on the very first day.”
