The body of a young woman was found inside a suitcase pulled from a canal in Padinska Skela, a village near Belgrade, Serbian outlet Telegraf said on July 31.

The victim is believed to be Lyudmila Turkova, a 28-year-old Russian citizen (other reports say she was 27), who went missing on July 25 in a Belgrade suburb, the tabloid Blic reported.

A Turkish citizen has been detained on suspicion of murder.
