Russia strikes Sloviansk. Five killed, Latvia’s honorary consulate building damaged.
Russian forces dropped two air bombs on Sloviansk, in Ukraine’s Donetsk region, on the afternoon of July 24, the head of the region’s administration, Vadym Filashkin, reported.
Five people were killed and nine others were injured, according to the latest data.
The strikes damaged 10 private homes, a business, and the building housing Latvia’s honorary consulate.
Latvia’s Foreign Minister Baiba Braže said she had informed European Union and NATO member states’ ministers about the incident. Latvia’s honorary consul, Oleksandr Pavenko, was not hurt in the attack, according to Latvian Public Television (LSM).
