Zelensky names Ukraine’s acting security chief Yevhen Khmara as acting defense minister
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has named Yevhen Khmara acting defense minister. Khmara currently serves as acting head of the Security Service of Ukraine.
Zelensky said Khmara’s responsibilities will include continuing reforms in the defense sector, as well as expanding long-range strikes on Russia and ensuring the army has everything it needs.
The Ukrainian president said he would soon formally submit Khmara’s nomination to the Verkhovna Rada for approval.
