Russia’s gasoline production drops 25%

Source: Reuters

Russia’s gasoline production dropped about 25% in the week of June 15–21 compared to average daily output for June 2025, Reuters reported on June 23, citing industry sources.

The Russian government is weighing increased fuel imports and subsidies, the Russian business daily Vedomosti reports.

In recent weeks, authorities across many Russian regions — as well as in Ukrainian territories occupied by Russia — have reported fuel sales restrictions following Ukrainian strikes on oil refineries. Gasoline prices have climbed and long lines have formed at gas stations.

Among the latest officials to announce restrictions was Vologda Governor Georgy Filimonov, who said Lukoil had imposed limits across the country, including in the region: no more than 30 liters of gasoline per person and no more than 60 liters of diesel fuel.
