Latvia’s message to artists who perform in Russia: don’t expect to play Riga. Just ask Xzibit.
Latvia canceled a Riga concert by rapper Xzibit after authorities learned of his recent performances in Russia, the Baltic news website Delfi reported. The show had been scheduled for September 19. Latvian authorities notified the organizers that the concert would not be permitted to go forward once they learned of Xzibit’s concerts in Russia.
The organizers countered that Xzibit’s shows in Russia were not political.
Xzibit joined the Moscow festival “Ulichny Drayv” (“Street Drive”) in September 2025 and performed in Moscow and St. Petersburg that December.
Xzibit’s greatest commercial success was in the early 2000s with the albums Restless (2000) and Man vs. Machine (2002), both executive-produced by Dr. Dre.
