Municipal workers in Yekaterinburg have painted over a “Game over” graffiti mural near a residential building recently struck by a Ukrainian drone. The image — depicting a girl in VR goggles holding a controller — appeared on May 16.

The next day, city officials told the Telegram news channel It’s My City that the graffiti looked “at the very least inappropriate” and promised to “resolve the matter” shortly. The mural disappeared under fresh paint on May 18. “Judging by the marks on the fence, someone first tried to remove the poster by hand — the girl in VR goggles had been printed on paper — but then municipal workers covered what was left with gray paint,” the outlet reported.

The mural is believed to have been created by the art group Zlye, which has not officially claimed authorship.

Ukrainian drones struck Yekaterinburg for the first time on April 25. The attack damaged a multi-story building in the Trinity residential complex. According to authorities, nine people sought medical attention, and one victim was hospitalized.
