Russia kills teenager in drone strike on Chernihiv, injuring 4 others

Russian forces launched a massive drone strike on Chernihiv overnight on April 19, Vyacheslav Chaus, the head of the Chernihiv regional administration, reported.

The city sustained significant damage: a lyceum and private homes were hit, and strikes also landed on the grounds of an industrial facility and a medical institution that had already been destroyed earlier in the war. Fires broke out at the impact sites.

A 16-year-old boy was killed. His body was found while workers cleared rubble. Four others were injured.

In the early hours of April 19, Russian forces launched 236 drones — including strike drones — across Ukrainian territory, Ukraine’s Air Force Command reported. By morning, Ukrainian forces said they had shot down 203 of the drones; another 32 came down at 18 locations.
