Ukraine and U.S. to meet this week to discuss possible talks with Russia, Zelensky says

Ukrainian and U.S. officials will meet later this week to discuss possible peace negotiations with Russia, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told journalists on Monday.

Zelensky also said he planned to meet on Monday with U.S. special envoy Keith Kellogg “as part of preparations for a possible future meeting with the Russian side,” according to Interfax-Ukraine. Kellogg arrived in Kyiv on Sunday to attend Ukrainian Independence Day celebrations.

The Ukrainian president said he hopes to learn from the U.S. side whether Russian President Vladimir Putin is ready for a bilateral meeting with Zelensky followed by a trilateral meeting with Donald Trump, as the U.S. president proposed during his meeting with Zelensky and European leaders last week.
