Trump says he’ll call Putin right after meeting with Zelensky and European leaders

Speaking to reporters ahead of his talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Monday, U.S. President Donald Trump said he would call Russian President Vladimir Putin later in the day.

“I just spoke to President Putin indirectly, and we’re going to have a phone call right after these meetings today,” Trump said.

Trump also told reporters he plans to hold a trilateral meeting with both Putin and Zelensky, saying, “if everything works out today, we’ll have a trilat.” Zelensky said he was ready for such a meeting as well.
