Ukrainian drones struck the Russian city of Voronezh, with debris falling in the city center, according to Governor Alexander Gusev.
Gusev said 16 people were injured, two of whom are in serious condition — one in a coma and another with lung damage. In total, 13 people were hospitalized in Voronezh.
Update: Later on Tuesday, Governor Alexander Gusev reported that the number of people injured had risen to 24, including two minors.
The attack damaged several apartments, as well as private homes in the suburbs of Voronezh and another district of the region, Gusev added.
Ukrainian drones also targeted the Lipetsk region. Governor Igor Artamonov said a drone crashed in an industrial zone in the city of Yelets, injuring one person. Elsewhere in the region, another drone fell near a private home. No casualties or injuries were reported.
Russiaʼs Defense Ministry said that overnight, air defenses intercepted and destroyed 55 Ukrainian drones — 32 over the Belgorod region, 12 over Voronezh, three over Lipetsk, one each over Rostov and Kursk, and six over the Black Sea.
