Trump slams former Russian president’s ‘N word’ nuclear threats following U.S. airstrikes on Iran
Update: Dmitry Medvedev has responded to Donald Trump, tweeting an image of text that reads in part: “Russia has no intention of supplying nuclear weapons to Iran” and “we definitely shouldn’t be arguing over who has more nukes.”
On Monday, June 23, U.S. President Donald Trump responded to Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev’s warning from a day earlier that “a number of countries are ready to directly supply Iran with their own nuclear warheads” after American attacks on Iran’s nuclear sites. President Trump responded with a series of rhetorical questions:
Did I hear Former President Medvedev, from Russia, casually throwing around the “N word” (Nuclear!), and saying that he and other Countries would supply Nuclear Warheads to Iran? Did he really say that or, is it just a figment of my imagination?
Trump later added, “The ‘N word’ should not be treated so casually. I guess that’s why Putin’s ‘THE BOSS.’”
On June 22, Medvedev, who served as Russia’s third president from 2008 to 2012, published a 10-point criticism of American airstrikes on Iran. He argued that Iran’s critical nuclear infrastructure was either “unaffected” or had “sustained only minor damage,” while claiming the strikes had entangled the U.S. in a new conflict and bolstered support for the Iranian government.
