Russian Foreign Ministry says Israeli attacks on Iran are illegal and risk destabilizing the Middle East

In a statement on Tuesday, Russia’s Foreign Ministry urged Israeli leaders to halt airstrikes on nuclear installations and other sites in Iran. “The current escalation of the Iranian-Israeli conflict creates risks of further destabilization throughout the entire region, primarily in states bordering Israel and Iran,” said Moscow.

Russia’s Foreign Ministry declared that Israeli attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities are illegal under international law and create unacceptable security threats. The ministry warned that such actions “push the world toward nuclear catastrophe, the consequences of which will be felt everywhere, including in Israel itself.”

The ministry also accused the West of “manipulating the global nuclear non-proliferation regime and using it to settle political scores” with adversaries. This policy comes at a “high cost to the international community and is completely unacceptable,” the ministry warned.
