Ukraine’s parliament has ratified an intergovernmental agreement with the United States on mineral resources. The measure passed with 338 votes in favor. No lawmakers voted against or abstained, though nine deputies were absent.

The ratification applies specifically to the bilateral agreement between the governments of Ukraine and the United States.

According to RBC Ukraine, two additional technical agreements are expected to be signed at a later date, but they do not require parliamentary approval.

The agreement calls for the creation of a “United States-Ukraine Reconstruction Investment Fund,” which would grant American investors priority access to Ukraine’s natural resources — and the right to earn revenue from their export.
