U.S. reduces its estimate of Ukraine’s debt for wartime aid by two-thirds

Source: Bloomberg

The United States has revised its estimate of the total aid it has provided to Ukraine since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, Bloomberg reports, citing sources familiar with U.S.-Ukraine negotiations.

While White House officials had previously claimed the aid amounted to $300 billion, they've now lowered the estimate to $100 billion, according to the agency’s sources. The new figure is closer to Ukraine’s own estimate of around $90 billion.

The sources told Bloomberg that the revision came after talks between the U.S. and Ukraine on a natural resources agreement, held in Washington late last week.
