U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink is resigning “earlier than planned,” Financial Times correspondent Christopher Miller reported on Thursday, citing three sources who said her decision is “in part over differences in policy between her and the new Trump administration, and in part for personal reasons”:
President Joe Biden nominated Bridget Brink as U.S. ambassador to Ukraine on April 25, 2022. Biden’s successor, Donald Trump, has made ending the war in Ukraine one of his main objectives. At the same time, Trump has said that Ukraine must give American companies priority access to its natural resources as compensation for the military aid it has received over the years.
