Overnight Russian drone attacks target Kyiv and Mykolaiv, injuring at least 12

A Russian drone attack damaged nine apartment buildings in Ukraine’s Mykolaiv on Wednesday night, according to the region’s governor, Vitalii Kim.

He said the strike also damaged three cars, 30 garages, and an administrative building. Fires broke out in one of the apartment buildings and a garage complex but were quickly extinguished, officials reported.

According to Ukraine’s State Emergency Service, 10 people were injured in the attack, including three who were hospitalized.

Kyiv was also targeted. The city’s military administration said 30 drones were launched at the capital, 16 of which were shot down. The attack sparked a fire at a warehouse in the Holosiivskyi district. In the Darnytskyi district, a private home was destroyed, and two people were injured.

Ukraine’s Air Force reported that air defenses shot down 85 of the 145 Russian drones launched across the country overnight. Another 49 crashed without causing damage.
