The figures who represented the Trump administration in secret talks with political opponents of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky included former Fox News host Tucker Carlson and two of the U.S. president’s relatives, Politico reported on Tuesday.
According to Politico’s sources, the negotiations involved:
- Donald Trump Jr., the U.S. president’s son
- Jared Kushner, the U.S. president’s son-in-law
- Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson
- U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff
Politico had previously reported that four “senior aides” to Donald Trump had taken part in talks with Zelensky’s opponents over possible early elections in Ukraine but had not disclosed their names. The outlet noted that Steve Witkoff is the only member of the group with an official U.S. government role.
