Multiple journalists reported seeing the White House “let” a correspondent from the Russian state media agency TASS into the Oval Office to cover U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s joint press conference on Friday.
Andrew Feinberg, a correspondent for The Independent, later wrote on X that a White House official had said that TASS was “not on the approved list” for the press conference. “As soon as it came to the attention of press office staff that he was in the Oval, he was escorted out by the [White House Press Secretary],” the official reportedly said.
