Zelensky says ‘serious’ members of Trump team to visit Ukraine this week before Munich Security Conference
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Monday that “serious” members of U.S. President Donald Trump’s team will visit Ukraine this week ahead of the Munich Security Conference, scheduled for February 14–16.
Zelensky announced the plans during a joint press conference with European Investment Bank President Nadia Calviño.
“Right now, it’s crucial to focus on the practical work between our teams in Ukraine and the U.S. and to have a shared vision of the key issues. Of course, there can be different opinions, but there must be a common understanding of the main issues — how to stop Putin and how to guarantee Ukraine’s security,” Zelensky said. He continued:
This week, some serious figures from President Trump’s team will be in Ukraine before the Munich conference. Then, in Munich, I’ll have a series of meetings, including with the U.S. Vice President [J.D. Vance].
Zelensky did not specify whom he meant by “serious figures."
