Trump’s envoy puts Ukraine peace plan on hold to consult NATO allies — The Telegraph
Keith Kellogg, Donald Trump’s special envoy for Russia and Ukraine, has paused work on a proposed peace plan for the war in Ukraine to consult with NATO allies, The Telegraph reported on Monday, citing sources familiar with the matter.
Before finalizing the proposal, Kellogg plans to meet with NATO leaders. He has told European diplomats he wants to hear their views on a potential peace deal and what role European nations could play in resolving the conflict.
Kellogg also sought to reassure allies concerned that Washington might sideline NATO in the process. According to The Telegraph, he assured European diplomats that the United States aims to strengthen Ukraine’s position in any future negotiations with Russia.
Kellogg had been expected to present the peace plan at the Munich Security Conference, scheduled for February 14–16, but has since said that Trump himself will unveil the plan — though not in the immediate future. Bloomberg reported that Kellogg is set to present Trump with peace plan options “in the coming weeks.”
According to Bloomberg, Kellogg is expected to meet with European officials at the Munich conference and will also visit Kyiv and several European capitals. However, he does not plan to travel to Moscow.
