Update: Russian media has reported that the explosion was an assassination attempt against Armen Sarkisian (also known as Armen Gorlovsky), the founder of a Russian military formation called the Arbat Battalion. Initial reports said that Sarkisian was killed by the blast, but Russian state media has since reported that he is in critical condition.
An explosion occurred in a Moscow apartment building on Monday, according to multiple Russian Telegram channels and the Moscow News Agency.
According to the channel Baza, an improved explosive device detonated in one of the entrances of the Scarlet Sails apartment complex on the city’s Aviatsionnaya Street. The channel 112 said that the blast was caused by a grenade.
According to the state news agency TASS, one person was killed and four were injured. The Russian authorities have reportedly launched a criminal investigation.
