Kremlin responds to Tucker Carlson’s claim that Biden administration ‘tried to kill Putin’
The Kremlin has responded to former Fox News host Tucker Carlson’s claim that the Biden administration attempted to assassinate Vladimir Putin.
“Russian intelligence agencies consistently take all necessary measures to ensure public safety and the security of those under state protection, especially the head of state,” Putin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told journalists, according to Russian state media.
Carlson made his claim about the alleged assassination attempt in an interview with journalist Matt Taibbi published Monday.
I think that’s one of the reasons that [former U.S. Secretary of State Antony] Blinken was pushing so hard for a real war, trying to kill Putin, for example, which the Biden administration did — they tried to kill Putin.
Carlson went on to call the idea of assassinating the Russian president “insane” and speculated about who would have then “taken over” Russia and what would happen to its nuclear arsenal.
