NATO to start sharing classified military info with E.U. and defense industry — Bloomberg
NATO will begin sharing some of its classified standards with the European Union and the defense industry, Bloomberg reported on Sunday.
These standards, which may include details such as weapons calibers or military terminology, aim to enhance “interoperability among the allies,” according to the report. Bloomberg also noted that this exchange could help the E.U. align its regulations on dual-use issues, such as radio frequencies, alongside military standards.
A NATO official told Bloomberg that this initiative is part of the alliance's new defense strategy, which emphasizes closer collaboration with the defense industry.
Bloomberg named Russia’s war against Ukraine and the reelection of Donald Trump as two issues driving NATO’s push to rearm.
