Ukrainian drones attacked the city of Kerch in eastern Crimea on Friday, the Ukrainian Telegram channel Crimean Wind reported, citing local residents who heard explosions.

According to the channel, the explosions occurred near the city’s Zaliv shipyard. Residents reportedly saw a fire in the Arshintsevo district. The RFE/RL outlet Krym.Realii also reported that Russian air defense systems were activated in the Kerch Strait.

The attack began around 5:00 a.m. local time and involved both aerial and naval drones, Crimean Wind said. Traffic across the Crimea Bridge was suspended beginning at 5:17 a.m.

The Russian Defense Ministry reported that air defenses shot down one Ukrainian drone over Crimea overnight. The agency also reported that Black Sea Fleet naval aviation destroyed two Ukrainian naval drones that were headed towards Crimea.

As of 8:45 a.m., the Crimean Bridge remained close to traffic.
