Journalists at Axios and The Financial Times reported on Friday that billionaire Elon Musk joined Donald Trump's phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Wednesday. Two sources with knowledge of the call told Axios that “Zelensky was somewhat reassured by what he heard from the president-elect.” The conversation reportedly lasted for roughly 25 minutes.

After the Wednesday call, Zelensky tweeted, “I had an excellent call with President Trump and congratulated him on his historic landslide victory — his tremendous campaign made this result possible.” The Ukrainian leader also reiterated his calls for American global leadership, calling it “vital for the world and for a just peace.”
