Russian governor stabbed after town hall meeting

After a town hall meeting with residents in Apatity on Thursday evening, Murmansk Governor Andrey Chibis was stabbed in the stomach. Chibis reportedly managed to reach his vehicle on his own strength, but he’s now hospitalized in serious condition. The Telegram channel Baza reports that the assailant was a 42-year-old man named Alexander Bydanov, who was injured during his arrest.

The chief physician at the hospital where the governor is being treated says Chibis successfully underwent an operation.
